The Last Entry

Well guys, this was a truly great fad but ultimately has turned out to be little more. I'm sure 10 years from now we'll all remember blogging as fondly as legwarmers and grunge music. I can hear the delightful anecdotes being created as I type. Still, this did manage to hold my interest for few months and I'll continue to check on everyone elses blogs from time to time. Guess it's back to email and phone calls!

Christmas Day

And so comes to an end another Christmas day. As promised, I've posted a picture of Dan's present from me - a personalized license plate... This will be proudly displayed on the back of his car for at least the next 10 years. Lucky Dan.

Hope everyone else had a great day - all was well enjoyed for us. Next - the New Year's house party... while it won't be messy for me, Dan has promised to more then make up for my lack of beverage consuming and I've promised him free reign in the liquor store... Happy New Year!!

Holiday Season

Even though I haven’t posted anything in a couple of weeks, I really don’t have much to catch everyone up on.

December has swung by like a blur. I had a cold last week – the first one where I couldn’t take any kind of cold medication. Nothing. Nil. Nada. Null. I think the frustration and misery hit a climax when Dan was kicked out of bed and forced to sleep on the couch – having said that, he probably got a better nights sleep then I did. Still I’ve come through the worst of it without a single decongestant.

I’ll be posting a picture next week of Dan’s Christmas present – imagine the tackiest gift imaginable, multiply it by infinity and you might have a clue as to what it is.

Best wishes to everyone for Christmas!!

Labs

For anyone who has ever owned a lab - you get this...

Hamster Terror

For all you hamster owners out there – be aware! A group of militant hamsters tired of being caged with nothing by wood chips and toilet paper for company are starting a revolution. Pictured above is their leader, Hammy McHamster.

In a statement released earlier today he warned that if not given proper respect and extra birdseed, hamsters all over the world will refuse to perform in walking balls and will never run around their wheels again.

Splinter groups have been reported in Canada (lead by Herman Gilchrist-Moore) and England (lead by Jonathan Baines-Moore).

Again, this picture is not of Cellsie – rather what Cellsie’s most likely is looking like at the moment (or more specifically, what Cellsie’s brain most likely is looking like at the moment). In fact, almost all the pictures I’m going to be posting won’t be of Cellsie – I’ll let you know when I get one but it won’t be until middle January at the earliest.

We had our first midwife appointment on Friday and we got to hear Cellsie’s heartbeat!!! I’m so proud – not only have I managed to grow a brain, but also a heart – damn, I’ve been busy… I also said ‘ciao’ to the first trimester and am officially in my 2nd trimester – doesn’t time just fly by! It’s quite nice actually because apparently from now on I’m supposed to have tons of energy and not feel barfy all day long – definitely something to look forward to.

Cellsie aside, we also completed our move this weekend, and not a moment too soon. My fantastic buddies Jill & Chad helped me move all our furniture on Friday night so I took them out for a late dinner. When I got back to the apartment at 9:30pm there was a drug bust going on, complete with cop cars and guilty faces… Needless to say, I grabbed a few key overnight things and belted over to our new place only to be greeted by the smell of fresh baked goods – oh how I love the ‘over 70 set’. I will post pics of the new digs as soon as we unpack our camera.

This is NOT Cellsie

This is not Cellsie, rather an image of what Cellsie probably looks like right now. I haven't had any ultrasounds yet (in Canada they wait until you're 18 weeks). I like this image of baby at 12 weeks mostly because it's titled 'Kickem' - the little blighter is a football champ waiting to be born! Strange to think Cellsie is already turning from Cyber Space Prawn into genuine, recognisable Baby...

Perfection

As it’s been oh, just under 4 months since my last post, I figured this morning would be a great chance to play a little catch-up.

Hmm… what’s new in my life… well, I suppose there is the obvious – I’m going to have a baby in 6 months. For all you math whizzes out there, that means I’m currently 3 months pregnant. Not a lot to tell about the first trimester as I’ve slept through most of it. Some of these pregnancy books mention briefly that I may feel slightly more tired than usual during the first few months. Slightly more tired??? That’s like saying the Pope is slightly Catholic, or the sun is slightly warm to the touch. Thankfully, I’m just about into my 2nd trimester so I’m no longer requiring 14 hours of sleep a day – 12 seems to be sufficient.

Pregnancy aside, life is ticking along as per usual. We’re moving house this weekend. We moved into our current apartment 3 months ago not realizing that our soon-to-be neighbors would be drug dealers and deaf to their own voices (not a great combination in any situation). The only noise we’re likely to hear in our new place is that of a squeaky wheel on the neighbor’s zimmer frame. Perfection is living next to geriatrics.
